DUSHANBE, February 13, Asia-Plus  — 25 general schools in Dushanbe have got access to Russia’s educational TV channel “Shkolnik TV.”

Kamil Magomedov, Second Secretary, Russian Embassy in Dushanbe, told Asia-Plus that they were connected to the channel in late January.  According to him, the project is part of efforts of the government commission for fellow-countrymen living abroad that was set up at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Shkolnik TV programs, which are prepared under the “Teleshkola” project, are unique system of distance education on all subjects for 10th and 11th grade students.

“An 8-hour program is aired three times a day that allows viewers selecting time which is the most good for them,” Russian diplomat said, noting that Shkolnik TV now has an audience of more than 13 million viewers.
