QURGHON TEPPA, February 13, Asia-Plus  — Khatlon authorities have resumed electricity supplies to a number of local cotton-ginning factories, which will process seeds for the upcoming cotton-sowing campaign, Asia-Plus has learned at open joint-stock company (OJSC) Southern Electric Systems.

The source at Southern Electric Systems said that two Khatlon enterprises Tojikkhimprom and Tojikazot now receive regular electricity supplies at the rate of 37,000 kWh and 162,000 kWh per day respectively.

“All strategic sites of the province also receive electrical power regularly and administrative centers of all districts of Khatlon receive electricity supplies partially,” the source said, noting that other areas of the province do not receive electricity supplies at all.

We will recall that under the tough power supply schedule introduced in the country on February 7 the supply of daily electrical power to the Khatlon province reduced from 3 million kWh to 2 million kWh.
