The event will be attended by the US Ambassador to Tajikistan Tracey Ann Jacobson and senior representatives from the IOM Tajikistan and President’s Executive Office.

IOM in Tajikistan has five strategic program response areas composed of several projects. The program areas contribute to the post-conflict peace building efforts through Capacity Building in Migration Management (CBMMP) with a focus on labor migration and border management; awareness campaigns for Tajik economic migrants and potential trafficking victims; micro-enterprise development, and effective disaster preparedness for displaced populations.
Within the scope of Counter-Trafficking, this program aims at supporting the government of Tajikistan in its efforts to combat trafficking in persons. The program is reinforcing prevention activities through awareness raising consultations with government officials and a staged information campaign that raises strong and well informed awareness at the grass-root level.
