80 women entrepreneurs from all regions of Tajikistan have received presidential grants this year.
An official source at the Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan says the contest for grants was conducted from May 15 to April 15, 2017.
Women entrepreneurs and housewives have reportedly submitted 415 projects for consideration to the jury commission and 80 best projects have been selected for grants.
By government’s decree 20 40,000 somoni grants, 20 30,000 somoni grants, 20 20,000 somoni grants and 20 10,000 somoni grants have been awarded to women entrepreneurs this year, the source said.
According to him, the working group of the jury commission will monitor implementation of projects supported by presidential grants in three months.
The presidential grants are aimed at helping women in business and they are awarded to launch small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and create new jobs for women.
Annual presidential grants for women entrepreneurs have been awarded to women entrepreneurs since 2006.
