An employee of the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Sughd province has been convicted of fraud.   

“An employee of the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in Sughd province, Mirzokarim Karimzoda, has been found guilty of fraud and fined 25,000 somoni,” the chief of the anticorruption agency’s office in Sughd province, Karim Ibrohimzoda, told reporters in Khujand, the administrative center of Sughd province, on August 2.  

According to him, Karimzoda demanded 5,000 U.S. dollars from local resident K.K. for releasing him from criminal responsibility.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Karimzoda under the provisions of Article 247 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-sale fraud; a court has imposed 25,000 somoni fine on him.
