DUSHANBE, December 4, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon today met with former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, chairman of the summit’s steering committee in Beppu on sidelines of the First Asia-Pacific Water Summit, presidential press service said.  

Mr. Mori highly appraised initiatives of President Rahmon on tackling global and regional water problems and noted that the Asia-Pacific Water Summit and the Government of Japan would take effective measures to promote realization of those proposals and tackling water problems in Tajikistan.  

President Rahmon invited Yoshiro Mori to take part at an international conference on water-related disaster risk reduction issues that is expected to be held in Dushanbe in Dushanbe next summer.  

President Rahmon today left Beppu for Tokyo.  Japan Today says President Rahmon will meet with Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda in Tokyo and will have an audience with Emperor Akihito during his stay in Tokyo from Tuesday.
