DUSHANBE, December 3, Asia-Plus — Two members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) – Oynisso Bahronova and Muhiba Yoqubova — attended the 5th Asian Conference of Women MPs and Women Ministers that was held in Beijing, China on November 25-29, Kholboy Qurbonov, the head of the Majlisi Milli department for coordination of work with Majlisi Namoyandagon, Executive Power and Public Association, said.   

According to him, the plenary sessions of the conference issues related to raising educational and living level of women, and active involvement of women in political, economic and social activities.  

            Delivering a statement at conference, Ms. Bahronova talked about Tajikistan’s experience in raising role of women in political life of the country, Qurbonov said.  

Bahronova also announced initiative of the Majlisi Milli to hold the next sixth conference in Dushanbe in September 2008.
