Tajik, Uzbek interior ministries vow to collaborate in combating terrorism

The interior ministries of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to collaborate in combating terrorism, according to the Tajik Interior Ministry’s website.

Co-chaired by Tajik First Deputy Interior Ministry Abdurahmon Alamsho and his Uzbek counterpart Davron Nazarmuhamedov, a meeting of delegations of the interior ministries of the countries reportedly took place in Dushanbe on November 16.  

The meeting focused on issues related to regional security and joint fight against transnational organized crime, terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking, the website says.   

The meeting participants also discussed issues of detecting persons wanted by police of the two countries, exchange of information, collaborating in preventing violations in border areas and carrying out joint operations.  

The meeting resulted in signing of a protocol.
