A business seminar formally titled “Business Dialogue: Doing business in Tajikistan” has taken place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The event that took place on December 21 was reportedly organized by the Tajik Embassy in Kuala Lumpur in cooperation with the Regional Office of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

The seminar participants included Muzaffar Muhammadi, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Ahmed Abdul Khalid, Regional Head Asia, Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, Islamic Development Bank, Sharimahtan Mat Saleh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, Sh, Sufiyev, an official with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade if Tajikistan, R. Kenjayev, an official with the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management of Tajikistan, and S. Sharif, Director of the Division for Central, South and West Asia and Africa, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia.

The seminar focused on issues related to operations of Tajik free economic zones and opportunities of investing in Tajikistan’s economy.

Representatives of Tajikistan, in particular, provided information about benefits granted for doing business in Tajikistan and presented business projects to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia.
