Afghan national detained with more than 56 kilos of narcotics in GBAO’s Darvoz district

A 67-year-old Afghan national Ishan Said waladi Rahmatsho has been detained in the village of Nulvand in the Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) on suspicion of illegally crossing the border and involvement in drug trafficking, according to the Interior Ministry’s press center.  

More than 56 kilograms of narcotics were confiscated from him.  A totaled reportedly included 54.670 kilograms of raw opium, about one kilogram of heroin and 342 grams of hashish. 

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
