Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon yesterday sent a message of condolences to US President Donald Trump over the Florida shooting tragedy, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Emomali Rahmon noted in his message that he was terribly sorry to hear about Florida high school shooting that left many people dead.

Rahmon also asked to convey his sincerely sympathy to families and relatives of the victims and his wishes of speedy recovery to those affected by the shooting.

US media reports say Wednesday’s school shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was the latest of several school shootings of 2018 — in a year that’s not even two months old.

At least 17 people were killed and 14 others wounded in the shooting at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14.  The police arrested and identified the attacker, Nicholas Cruz, aged 19, who had earlier been expelled from the school due to behavioral problems.  He was reportedly armed with a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, which is used by US police and is on sale as a civilian weapon meant for self-defense and hunting.  In addition, the 19-year-old perpetrator had a large amount of ammunition.

The Florida high school shooting is the deadliest school shooting since 26 people were killed at Connecticut school Sandy Hook in 2012.
