Tajik President Emomali Rahmon is personally controlling preparations for the upcoming state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan. Tajik Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Sodiq Imomi, was quoted as saying by Uzbek national news agency UzA on February 26.  

He reportedly noted that significant positive changes were taking place in the region due to policy carried out by Uzbek president.  

Tajik diplomat expressed confidence that Mirziyoyev’s visit to Tajikistan would open new page in relations between the two countries, according to UzA.

Ambassador Imomi noted that the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan rose 80 percent last year alone.
