DUSHANBE, October 23, Asia-Plus  — Turkey intends to boost trade cooperation with Tajikistan, visiting Turkey’s State Secretary of External Trade Abdullah Keten remarked at a meeting with Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Chairman Sharif Said in Dushanbe on October 22.  

According to the CCI press service, Mr. Keten noted that Turkish entrepreneurs are interested in establishing and expanding cooperation with their Tajik counterparts in different fields.  However, there are some problems that require joint efforts to be tackled, the Turkish official said.  First of all, it is problems related to transportation and licensing issues.

The CCI head, for his part, noted that those problems are being tackled at the governmental level.  Sharif Said outlined sectors like road-building, housing, hotel business, energy, mining, education, health and telecommunications as areas of which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries  

The two also discussed issues related to an exhibition of Turkish goods, which is expected to be held in Dushanbe next year, and training of personnel for Tajikistan in Turkey, the CCI press service said.
