Contribution of the presidents of Tajikistan and Russia to providing security along the CIS southern borders has been discussed in Dushanbe.

A roundtable on this subject took place in the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan in Dushanbe on May 29.

Organized by the Center for Strategic Studies and the “Friends of Russia” Public Association, the event brought together researchers, experts, senior representatives of the Government and the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan as well representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to Tajikistan.

“The main objective of the roundtable was in showing a huge contribution of the leaders of Tajikistan and Russia to providing security and stability in the region, Abdullo Habibov, the head of the Board of the “Friends of Russia” Public Association, told Asia-Plus in an interview. 

The roundtable participants also exchanged views on issues related to cooperation between the law enforcement authorities and power-wielding structures of the two countries in combating international terrorism and extremism.
