DUSHANBE, October 16, Asia-Plus — A total capital of AmonatBonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) rose 31.7 percent in the year to October 1, 2007, reaching some 30 million somonis, the AmonatBonk chairman Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 16.
According to him, one of factors that have contributed to replenishment of bank’s total capital is the clear profit that has amounted to 6.2 million somonis over the first nine months of this year.
“Over the report period, 572.4 million somonis have been transferred to the country’s transit budgetary accounts through AmonatBonk’s loro accounts,” said the bank head, “The social insurance funds over the same nine-month period have amounted to 214.7 million somonis, and payments for Tajik national passports and passports for foreign travel have amounted to 3.4 million somonis and 27.2 million somonis respectively.”
Mahmadaminov further added that 374.9 million somonis have been provided to the federally funded organizations via AmonatBonk’s branches in January-September this year, which is 31.9 percent more than in the same period of last year.
“Over the same nine-month period, the population deposits in AmonatBonk have amounted to totaling 59.1 million somonis, which is 96.4 percent more than in the same period of last year,” said the AmonatBonk head, “Time deposits over the report period have mounted to 25.5 million somonis, which is 2.1 times more than in January-September 2006.”
$124.3 million have been remitted to AmonatBonk in January-September 2007, which is two times more than in the same period of 2006.
Over the report period, AmonatBonk has provided loans in a total amount of 108.1 million somonis to 18,402 customers.
The AmonatBonk head noted that nearly 2.1 million somonis have been transferred to the Public Charity’s account so far.
In January-September 2007, AmonatBonk have handed over decrepit banknotes for a total amount of 21.3 million somonis to the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT), which is 28.2 percent more than in the same period of last year.
