“We are working with Tajik authorities in the ongoing investigation into the Danghara incident,” Mr. Jeff Ridenour, Information Officer at U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, told Asia-Plus Monday afternoon.

According to him, the US diplomatic mission condemns that brutal act.

“We extend our condolences to the victims' families.  Although the investigation into the incident is still going on, there is proof that it was a deliberate attack,” said the US Embassy spokesman.  “We condemn this cruelty of the assailants and recongine that they in no way represent the hospitable people of Tajikistan.”

Recall, two of four foreign cyclists killed in the hit-and-run incident that occurred in Danghara district on July29 were nationals of the United States.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan has posted photos of suspects wanted in connection with the Danghara incident on its website.
