DUSHANBE, October 5, Asia-Plus  – CIS presidents are arriving in Dushanbe to attend the CIS summit that will open in the Tajik capital today afternoon.

According to the Tajik MFA, some 20 issues have been tabled to the agenda of the Dushanbe summit.  The major topics of the summit are expected to be the concept of further development of the CIS and the plan of main actions aimed at introducing the concept.

The draft concept provides for further evolutionary development of the CIS and expansion of political and economic cooperation between the CIS member nations.  The actions of the plan should meet international standards and norms. First of all it concerns norms of the World Trade Organization, as all CIS member states want to join it

We will recall that the Belarus capital Minsk hosted the Interstate Working Group’s session on preparing a draft concept for further development of the Commonwealth of Independent States on September 14.  The plan was drafted on the instructions of the CIS Heads of State that were given during the June meeting in St. Petersburg.  The plan embraced 9 sections including the provisions of the conception.
