DUSHANBE, September 24, Asia-Plus — The first electronic library has opened in Dushanbe.

An official opening of the library was timed to coincide with a Day of Abuabdulloh Rudaki, the founder of Tajik-Persian classical literature, which is marked in Tajikistan on September 22. 

The electronic library is located in the building of Branch of the Dushanbe City Lohouti Library on the Ahmad Donish Street.  Known Tajik scientists have been invited to attend the library opening.  After the library-opening ceremony a conference dedicated to Rudaki was held.  .  

Shahlo Mousoyeva, the chairwoman of the culture directorate of the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said that the Dushanbe electronic library is provided with computers, CD and DVDs.  

The Dushanbe electronic library is a gateway to Internet resources that offers access to comprehensive, accurate and reliable information.  Available resources include electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, and books.
