A Czech national and top managers of Tajik employment agency are accused of a large-scale fraud.

According to the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption under the President of Tajikistan, the citizen of the Czech Republic Waclaw Skohoutil and top managers of Tajik employment agency Gardoun LTD (director Bakhtyor Arabov, deputy director Tohir Rustamov and chief accountant Tovous Khoushqadamova) are accused of a large-scale fraud.

They reportedly took a total of more than 32,000 U.S. dollars and 102,000 somoni from 36 citizens of Tajikistan promising to deploy them in the Czech Republic but did not fulfill the promise.

Criminal proceedings against them have been instituted under the provisions of Article 247 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – fraud; an investigation is under way.

They face fines equivalent to up to 2,190 estimates (circulation indices; since January 1 this year, the estimate is equal to 55.00 somoni) or up to 12 years in prison.
