DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus — The board of the Ministry of Education (MoE) met yesterday to discuss the preliminary draft budget of the education sector and the ministry itself for 2008.  

The source at a MoE said that the preliminary draft budget for the education sector amounts for 672.261 million somonis, which accounts for 20 percent of the draft national budget for the next year.  

The national budget for this year has earmarked more than 548 million somonis for public association.

The preliminary draft budget of the ministry itself has amounted to 36.267 million somonis, which is 106. percent more than last year.  

The source added that the next board meeting will sum up the results of attestation of teachers in the country.
