Kazakhstan’s insurance company opens its representative office in Dushanbe

Joint-Stock Company (JSC) KazakhExport Insurance Company has opened it representative office in Dushanbe.

An official opening ceremony of KazakhExport’s representative office that took place on May 20 was attended by Ruslan Iskhakov, Chairman of the KazakhExport Board, Jamshed Jumakhonzoda, Head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), and some other officials and entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Iskhakov, in particular, noted that one of tasks of KazakhExport’s representative office in Dushanbe was in establishing contacts with Tajik business community, informing entrepreneurs and financial structures about KazakhExport’s tools.

“This will promote further expansion of cooperation between Kazakh and Tajik entrepreneurs and increase the bilateral trade between the two countries,” Iskhakov noted.   .

Mr. Jumakhonzoda, for his part, noted that opening of KazakhExport’s office in Dushanbe was an important event that would promote further increase in a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.  

During the presentation, an agreement was reached on supporting Kazakhstani exporters by Tajik banks.  KazakhExport has signed an agreement on cooperation with Orienbonk, Bank Eskhata and the International Bank of Tajikistan on insuring and financing Kazakhstani producers exporting their goods to Tajikistan. 

KazakhExport has reportedly provided support for delivery of metal-roll, cars and buses, oil and fat products and confectionery to Tajikistan’s market.  

Kazakhstan is one of major trading partners of Tajikistan.  According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstani last year valued at US$836 million.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Kazakhstan estimated at some US$300 million and Tajikistan’s imports from Kazakhstan worth more than US$536 million.  

JSC KazakhExport Insurance Company operates as an export insurance company.  It provides insurance protection against the risk of non-payment in foreign trade operations, and for safety of export transactions to the export manufacturing sector enterprises and second-tier banks.  The company supports the growth in the export of non-oil goods, works, and services in the priority economy sectors, as well as develops financial, insurance, and non-financial support practices for enterprises.  It offers exporter’s credit insurance, as well as support within the framework of the SPIIAD, such as export and trade financing for exporters, and insurance of Kazakhstani investments abroad.
