A new scandal has flared up in Kyrgyzstan after students of the Mailuu-Suu town school №5, with the help of the mobile phone camera, recorded how a teacher beats up their classmate.

The incident happened on March 19, 2009, but became public only now when the children finally got the nerve to show the film to the right advocates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT5bwQt8H-w.

Teenagers and their relatives turned to the human rights center Justice in Jalalabad for help.

Meanwhile the parents and children pointed that the teacher of history Jazgul Ismailova has threatened them with some “high-ranked protectors”.

That day the teacher got mad with a student Begaly Doolotaliev who stood up to protect his classmates from the teacher’s vain accusations. Ismailova saw a regular love writing “…+…= love” on the desk and demanded to know the harm-maker. Didn’t like the answer of the student, the teacher started using her fists.

As the parents of the children said, they were outraged that the school administration, including the director stood for the teacher.

The news agency “24.kg” turned to the Mailuu-Suu town administration but it gave no comment. The journalists will closely trace development of the situation and keep the public informed.
