A total wage debt rose 38.8 percent (more than 17.3 million somoni) in a year to September 30, reaching some 48 million somoni (equivalent to nearly 5 million USD), according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The highest wage debt has been reported in the real sector of the economy – more than 31 million somoni, with 13.6 million somoni debt registered in the mining sector and 9 million somoni debt registered in the construction sector.
In the service sector, a total wage debt reportedly amounted to 13.5 million somoni.
As of October1, 2019, an average monthly nominal wage in Tajikistan amounted to 1,325 somoni (equivalent to 136 USD) and the minimum wage amounted to 400 somoni.
In Tajikistan, the lowest average monthly wage has been reported in the agrarian sector – 532 somoni.
The highest average monthly wage has reportedly been in the financial sector – 3,330 somoni.
In the mining sector, an average monthly wage has amounted to 2,723 somoni.
