This year, the Tajik government is expected to earmark for culture and sports practically as much as it will spend for enhancement of the country’s agrarian, industrial and construction sectors. 

The budget for 2020 earmarks 973 million somoni for development of culture and sports in the country, which is 4.0 percent of the budget's expenditures.

Practically the same amount will be spent to contribute to enhancement of the country’s agrarian, industrial and construction sectors.

Thus, the budget for 2020 projects expenditure of 785 million somoni in the agrarian sector and expenditure of 232 million somoni in the industrial and construction sector.   

Meanwhile, this year’s budget earmarks 3.9 billion somoni for the energy sector, 5 billion somoni for the educational sector and 3.9 billion somoni for social insurance and protection of the population.

Indicators of the national budget for 2020 reflect the economic and social development of the country.  Social spending is expected to account for 44.5 percent (11.7 billion somoni) of budget allocations.

In 2020, the budget expenditures are projected to stand at 26.3 billion somoni, which is 9.3 percent more than last year.
