Gold bars with a total weight of 100 kilograms are waiting for their customers in storage of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
“By president’s order we have produced gold bars with a total weight 100 kilograms and we are gradually selling them,” NBT head Jamshed Nourmahmadzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on February 5.
According to him, citizens of the country can buy the NBT-produced bars using their passports. “No other documents are required,” Tajik central bank head said.

Recall, the NBT refined gold bars were released into free circulation in June 2017, and since that time, Tajik central bank has sold gold bars totally weighing 50 kilogram.
The NBT has produced 5-, 10-, 20-, 50- and 100-gram gold bars.
On February 6, the National Bank of Tajikistan set prices for its gold bars. Current prices are 2,615.76 somoni for the 5-gram gold bar, 5,142.48 somoni for the 10-gram gold bar, 10,135.37 somoni for the 20-gram gold bar, 25,094.54 somoni for the 50-gram gold bar and 50,020.33 somoni for the 100-gram gold bar.
