DUSHANBE, June 11, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a bill requiring amendments to the RT Law “On the Fight Against Corruption” at a June 11 meeting presided over by its speaker Saydullo Khairulloyev.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board had also considered a bill requiring state regulation of circulation of certain types of oil products in Tajikistan, as well as amendments to the country’s laws on status of members of the Majlisi Milli (upper house of the Tajik parliament) and deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, primary vocational education, science and state policy in the field of science, veterans and energy.  

            The board also considered Tajik-Kyrgyz government-to-government agreement on mutual allotment of land parcels and draft Tajikistan poverty reduction poverty strategy for 2007-2009.  

            During the meeting, it as noted that amendments had been made to the mentioned laws in order to bring them into compliance with the country’s legislation.  

Some of these issues will be considered at the next sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of third convocation on June 13, Sultonov said.
