Tajik banks ordered to provide postponement in payment of loans to customers having difficult financial situation

The National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has developed the plan of actions to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 outbreak on the national economy as well as the country’s financial and insurance sectors, according to the NBT press center.  

“For the purpose of protecting rights of consumers, preventing increase in the number of non-performing loans and keeping solvency, the NBT as ordered lending agencies to develop the plan of adequate actions,” says the NBT press center.

Tajik central bank, in particular, notes that taking into account financial situation of their customers the lending agencies will consider restructuring of loans of some their customers being in a difficult financial situation and consider the possibility of providing preferential postponement to the  in payment of loans.
