DUSHANBE May 23, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan marks an Youth Day today.

According to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to this date was held at the Kokhi Jomi in Dushanbe yesterday.  

Karomatullo Olimov, State Adviser to the President for Social Matters, addressed the meeting to congratulate youth on their holiday.  An awards ceremony for young journalists, artists and architects was held on sidelines of the meeting.   

We will recall that Youth Week was held in Dushanbe on May 17-23.  The youth committee organized various sports, scientific and cultural activities in the city during on this occasion.  Thus, a mini football tournament among students at the capital higher educational institutions was held in Dushanbe.

A scientific-practical conference of young researchers was held at the Academy of Sciences and a republican festival Makhfili Zarifon (Club of the cheerful and sharp-witted) was held at the Kokhi Jomi Complex in Dushanbe on May 17.  

Youth Day has been marked in Tajikistan since 1997.
