Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has amounted to 2.454 billion U.S. dollars over the first seven months of this year, which is 45.6 million U.S. dollars fewer than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
In January-July this year, the trade balance was negative and amounted to 1.04 billion U.S. dollars.
Exports of goods in January-July have reportedly amounted to some 707 million U.S. dollars, which was 10.3 percent or 66 million U.S. dollars more than in the same period last year.
Precious and semiprecious items and mineral products, textiles, non-precious metals and cotton fiber were the main times of Tajikistan’s exports over the reporting period.
Over the first seven months of this year, major trading partners of Tajikistan’s export sales were Switzerland, Turkey and Kazakhstan.
Imports of goods into the country over the same seven-month period have amounted to more than 1.746 billion U.S. dollars, which was 6.0 percent or 111.3 million U.S. dollars fewer than in January-July last year.
The main items of Tajikistan’s imports were oil products, products of chemical industry, wheat flour, food products, mineral products, etc.
In January-July, major trading partners of Tajikistan’s imports were Russia, China and Kazakhstan.
Over the same seven-month period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 566 million U.S. dollars; Kazakhstan – 515 million U.S. dollars; Switzerland – 307 million U.S. dollars; China – 267 million U.S. dollars; Turkey – 185 million U.S. dollars; and Uzbekistan – 188 million U.S. dollars.
