Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin yesterday held talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Chingiz Aidarbekov on the sidelines of the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO-CFM).

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed the state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan based on the principles of long-term friendship and good neighborliness.

Muhriddin and Aidarbekov reportedly also exchanged views on issues related to delimitation and demarcation of the mutual border.

Meanwhile, Russian President Putin welcomed all the SCO foreign ministers during a video-link meeting in Moscow.  Foreign Minister Muhriddin was among the participants of the meeting.

The SCO-CFM is the highest forum of SCO after the Council of Heads of State (CHS) and the Council of Heads of Government (CHG). It deliberates on important regional and international issues and considers documents for approval and adoption by the Council of Heads of State.
