The state budget for 2021 projects ceiling for the budget deficit to amount to more than 463 million somonis (equivalent to more than 41 million U.S. dollars), which is 0.5 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).    

The government intends to cover the state budget deficit next year due to:

–           attracting international and external loans as well as grants from international financial institutions – 253 million somonis

–           selling treasury bills – 100 million somonis;

–           receiving dividends from government shares – 31 million somonis;-           saving money from tenders for public procurement of goods, works and services – 30 million somonis;

–           getting income from privatization and lease of republican properties – 24 million somonis;

–           overfulfilling local budget income targets – more than 15.1 million somonis;

–           using free funds of the republican budget.

 

Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament approved the state budget for 2021 on November 18.  Revenues are projected to stand at 27.6 billion somonis and expenditures at 28.1 billion somonis.  Tax receipts are expected to stand at 18.8 billion somonis, which is more than 68 percent of the overall volume of the revenues.
