KHUJAND, April 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — In northern Tajikistan, electricity rationing has been abandoned only in Khujand and in a number of cities having multi-story apartment buildings, while in other areas, the supply of daily electricity has just been increased by several hours, Asia-Plus has learned at the branch of Barqi Tojik power holding for the Sughd province.

Vital facilities in the province now also have electricity regularly.  In the meantime, districts still have electricity only ten hours per day – five hour of electricity in the morning and five hours in the evening.

Yesterday, the Sughd province received 7.146 million kWh of electrical power, which is some 600,000 kWh more than on April 1.  Sughd’s daily requirements in electricity are 14 million kWh.
