The exact date of a visit of the newly elected President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to Tajikistan will become known after his trip to Uzbekistan.

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev says Japarov’s visit to Uzbekistan is scheduled for March 11-12, according to AKIPress

Kazakbayev noted that Japarov had received invitations from heads of many foreign countries.

“In his speech, the President said that he wants to pay visits to neighboring countries: Kazakhstan; Tajikistan; Turkmenistan; and China,” Kyrgyz foreign minister was quoted as saying by AKIPress.

Russia was the first destination for Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.  He paid a working visit to Moscow in late February.  Russia as a first destination for a Kyrgyz president is no surprise; it’s essentially tradition.

On Tuesday March 2, Sadyr Japarov traveled to Kazakhstan for a two-day working visit, his second trip abroad as president after a late February visit to Russia.

Sadyr Japarov (born 6 December 1968) is a Kyrgyz politician, who was the acting prime minister of Kyrgyzstan in the interim government following the resignation of Sooronbay Jeenbekov amidst electoral protests.  Japarov also became acting president of Kyrgyzstan after Jeenbekov's resignation, but resigned himself on November 14, 2020. On January 10, 2021, Japarov was elected as President of Kyrgyzstan.

Japarov has been described as a nationalist and a populist.
