DUSHANBE, January 3, Asia-Plus – One person was killed and one other was injured December 31 as a BMW sedan ran into the tree in Dushanbe, according to the Tajik traffic police administration.

The accident took place in the Ayni Street near the Zebunisso Cinema.  As a result of the accident, a 70-year-old Jamshed Nazirov died on the way to the hospital and a 19-year-old Tillo Sulaymonov sustained slight injures.

According to the Tajik firefighting service, three fires were reported in Dushanbe on December 31.  Fortunately, no injured was reported, according to the source.  

The Dushanbe police department says that eight crime, including thefts, were registered in the Tajik capital during the New Year’s holidays.    

One drug-related crime was reported in Dushanbe on January 1, according to the source.  A 35-year-old Amrikhon Sharopov was detained with 1.5 kilograms of raw opium in one of microrayons of the city.
