Tajik foreign minister meets his Italian counterpart in Tashkent to discuss cooperation

On Wednesday December 8, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met in Tashkent with his Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio on the sidelines of the Second ministerial Conference "Italy – Central Asia" in the C5 + 1 format.

According to the Tajik MFA information, the two discussed the current state and prospects of further expansion of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Italy.

The parties reportedly also exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest, including the situation in neighboring Afghanistan.  

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Italian Republic were established on May 15, 1992.
