A strict ban on fishing in all water bodies during spawning was introduced in Sughd.

Five poachers engaged in illegal fishing detained in Sughd region, reports the Committee of the Environment under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

State supervision in the field of use and protection of flora, fauna and fish stocks of the Committee for Environmental Protection managed to detain poachers at the crime scene.

All of them at that moment were engaged in illegal fishing on the territory of the "Tajik Sea".

It turned out that the detainees had been engaged in illegal fishing for a month.

15 fishing nets with a length of 1500 meters, as well as the engine of the Takhassu-15 rubber boat and 220 fish – zander, pike and perch with a total weight of 72 kg were seized from the offenders. 

Protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up against offenders.

Earlier, a strict ban on fishing in all water bodies during spawning was introduced in the Sughd region. At this time, the intervention of fishermen can negatively affect the increase and conservation of fish stocks in the region.
