Fuel prices have slightly declined in Tajikistan over the past two days.  In Dushanbe, fuel prices have fallen about 3.0 percent on average.

The price of one liter of 92-octane gasoline in Dushanbe fell from 11.00 somonis on May 29 to 10.80 somonis on May 31 (almost 2.0-percent decline), with similar price falls in Sughd and Khatlon province as well as districts subordinate to the center.

The price for one liter of 95-octane gasoline in Dushanbe fell from 11.50 somonis to 11.30 somonis (almost 1.8-percent decline)

The price for one liter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Dushanbe fell from 6.40 somonis on May 29 to 6.20 somonis on May 31 (almost 4.0 percent decline), with similar price falls in Sughd and Khatlon province as well as districts subordinate to the center.  Some refueling stations in Dushanbe sell LNG at 6.00 somonis per liter.

In Sughd province, current prices for 92-octane and 95-octane gasolines are also 10.80 somonis and 11.30 somonis, respectively.

The current price for one liter of LNG in Sughd province is 6.10 somonis.

The price of diesel fuel in Dushanbe as well as in Sughd and Khatlon province and in districts subordinate to the center has not changed – 11.80 somonis per liter.

Meanwhile, the current price for one liter of 92-octane gasoline, which is the most sought-after grade of automobile gas in the country, in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) is 11.40 somonis.  The price for one liter of 95-octane gasoline in GBAO is 11.80 somonis.

LNG is sold in the region at 7.00 somonis per liter.  The price of one liter of diesel fuel in GBAO is 12.40 somonis.

Fuel market experts say the fuel price fall in Tajikistan has resulted from the Russian ruble's appreciation against the dollar.

Representatives of refueling stations, however, say the fuel prices have slightly declined in the country due to the deliveries made by large fuel importers.

As far as prices for diesel fuel in Tajikistan are concerned, some experts attribute invariability of them to the ongoing and harvest seasons.
