Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at about 4.2 billion U.S. dollars in January-July this year

Over the first seven months of this year, Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has amounted to about 4.2 billion U.S. dollars, which is 16.5 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan. 

In January-July this year, the trade balance was negative and amounted to 1.4 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-July have reportedly amounted to about 1.4 billion U.S. dollars, which is 1.9 percent more than in the same period last year.

Over the reporting period, the country’s exports mainly included cement, energy, ores, concentrates – 35.8 percent, precious and semi-precious metals and stones – 30.6 percent, non-ferrous metals (aluminum) and products made from the – 15.1 percent, and textile materials and products made from them – 13.6 cement. 

In January-July this year, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s exports were: Kazakhstan – 21.2 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s exports; China – 18 percent; Turkiye – 9.1 percent; and Uzbekistan – 8.7 percent.

Imports of goods into the country over the same seven-month period have amounted to almost 2.8 billion U.S. dollars, which was 25.2 percent more than in January-July last year.

The main items of Tajikistan’s imports over the reporting period were: mineral products (petroleum products, liquefied natural gas, coal and so forth) – 18.3 percent; machinery and equipment – 12.6 percent; base metals and manufactures thereof – 10.6 percent; products of chemical industry – 10.6 percent; finished food products – 9.0 percent; plant products – 8.1 percent; and others. 

Over the reporting period, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s imports were: Russia – 30.9 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s imports; China – 18.8 percent; Kazakhstan – 17.8 percent; and Uzbekistan – 7.1 percent.  

Over the same seven-month period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 22 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s external trade turnover; Kazakhstan – 19 percent; and China – 18 percent.
