DUSHANBE, October 25, Asia-Plus – Tajik MPs have endorsed amendments to the 2006 national budget, under which customers and general contractors for new hotels and textiles factory being build in Dushanbe are exempted from paying eight of 17 types of taxes determined by Tajik legislation, and other participants in the construction of these facilities are exempted from paying three types of taxes.  Besides, all materials delivered to the country for these facilities are exempted from value added tax (VAT).    

A regular sitting of the third session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the third convocation, presided over by its chairman, Saydullo Khairulloyev, was held on October 25.  

A bill on amendments made to the RT Law “On the National Budget for 2006” topped the session’s agenda.  Besides, parliamentarians also ratified loan agreements between the Ministry of Finance and China’s Exim (Export/Import) Bank on the rehabilitation of the road Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak (US$81.105 million), the construction of electric main South-North (US$367.219 million) and the construction of the power-transmission line Lolazor-Obimazor in Khatlon (US$227.59 million).   

Tajik MPs also ratified an agreement on the establishment of the CIS Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
