Tajikistan’s industrialists have committed to increase industrial production 2.5 times during five years – from 38.8 billion somonis in 2021 to 95 billion somonis in 2026, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT). 

An official source within a MoINT says export of industrial goods will double over the reporting period and 870 new industrial enterprises will be introduced into operation over the same five-year period (2022-2026).  

The share of the industrial sector in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to amount to 26 percent in 2026.  

Over the first nine months of this year, Tajikistan has produced more than 30 billion somonis worth of industrial goods, which is 4.8 billion somonis or 18 percent more than in the same period last year, the source noted, adding that the industrial enterprises have paid more than 3.6 billion somonis in taxes over the first nine months of this period, which was 828 million somonis more than January-September last year.  

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, 2,594 industrial enterprises now operate in Tajikistan; of them, 788 are based in Sughd province, 710 are based in Khatlon province, 548 are based in Dushanbe, 466 are based in districts subordinate to the center, and 82 are based in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
