Russian delegation arrives in Dushanbe to discuss economic cooperation

Date:

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Husnullin, heading a Russian government delegation arrived in Dushanbe today on a two day working visit.

Tajik state-run news agency Khovar says the main purpose of the visit is for the delegation to discuss with high-ranking Tajik state officials a broad range of issues related to further expansion of the bilateral economic cooperation.

Husnullin is reportedly scheduled to hold talks with Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda and Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker Rustam Emomali, who is also the Mayor of Dushanbe.

Recall, during his official visit to Dushanbe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted on May 6 that Russian Vice-Premier Aleksei Overchuk will also arrive in Dushanbe from June 19-20.

“The visit will be a good opportunity to see in the complex what else needs to be done in order to solve issues that require further consideration,” the top Russian diplomat noted.

Marat Khusnullin (born August 9, 1966) is a Russian Tatar politician serving as Deputy Prime Minister of Russia in charge for construction and regional development since 2020.  He previously served as Deputy Mayor of Moscow from 2010 to 2020.
