Emomali Rahmon has accepted President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Akihiko Tanaka on Thursday.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and this organization in various economic and social spheres were discussed, the press service of the president reports.

It is noted that Emomali Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the parties in various sectors, especially in the professional development of civil servants, the implementation of investment projects to provide drinking water and improve the infrastructure of transport and highways, aviation, in preserving the health of mothers and children, the development of healthcare and agriculture, energy and management of the state border.

The parties confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in other priority areas and to implement the strategic goals of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the Country Program of the Japan Agency for International Cooperation.

During the conversation, the issues of improving the business environment, promoting employment, increasing the competitiveness of our country, developing the structure of industry and exports, organizing new jobs, raising funds to take measures to prevent natural disasters, reducing the negative impact of climate change consequences were discussed.

It was also noted that cooperation in the field of training specialists and civil servants for various fields of management, finance, banking, tourism, road construction, energy and other industries remains a priority area for the development of bilateral relations.
