Russian specialized website Goldomania reports that gold reserves in Tajikistan have increased by 1.7 tons over the first six months of this year, reaching 7.42 tons.
Meanwhile, the World Gold Council says Tajikistan’s gold reserves remained unchanged at 8.46 tons in the second quarter of 2023 from 8.46 tons in the first quarter of 2023.
Trading Economics said in February this year that Tajikistan’s Main Geology Directorate had earlier noted that a total volume of Tajikistan's gold reserves is about 500 tons.
Goldomania notes that Uzbekistan tops Central Asia’s nations in terms of reserves of monetary gold. According to it, Uzbekistan’s current monetary gold reserves are more than 377.2 tons.
The World Gold Council says Uzbekistan’s gold reserve was reported at 1,800 tons in December 2022.
This reportedly stayed constant from the previous number of 1,800 tons for December 2021.
According to World Gold Council, Uzbekistan gold reserves data is updated yearly, averaging 1,700 tons from December 2008 to 2022, with 15 observations.
According to the Council, in November last year, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan sold 2 tons of gold. Uzbekistan's gold reserves fell by almost 2 tons to 397 tons, up 10% from early 2022, the Council said.
Kazakhstan is reportedly in the second place among the Central Asian countries in terms of monetary gold reserves.
According to Goldomania, Kazakhstan’s current monetary gold reserves amount to more than 313.5 tons.
The World Gold Council says Kazakhstan has rightfully taken a leading global position in the mining and processing of gold; the country produces around 70-80 tons of refined product each year.
The success of its domestic refined gold industry, along with the investment characteristics gold has demonstrated throughout the last decade, have positioned it as fundamental to the reserves of the Central Bank of Kazakhstan.
As of July 2022 the bank reportedly held 372.8 tons of refined gold worth about US$21.1billion. These figures put Kazakhstan in 15th place by reserves of gold and in sixth place worldwide by gold holdings growth over the past decade, according to the World Gold Council.
Meanwhile, Goldomania reports that over the first six months of this year, gold reserves of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have fallen by 18.6 tons and 46 tons, respectively.
Goldomania says Kyrgyzstan’s current monetary gold reserves amount to about 16.7 tons. Over the first six months of this year, Kyrgyzstan’s gold reserves have reportedly increased by 6.5 tons.
Meanwhile, the World Gold Council says gold reserves in Kyrgyzstan increased to 15.74 tons in the second quarter of 2023 from 10.19 tons in the first quarter of 2023.
Goldomania did not provide information about Turkmenistan’s gold monetary reserves.
Meanwhile, the World Gold Council says Turkmenistan does not hold reserves in gold.
