DUSAHNBE, August 8, Asia-Plus — The sixth session of Tajik-Kyrgyz commission for economic and trade cooperation will open in
Dushanbe
on August 10.
State and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries will be in the center of discussion in
Dushanbe
.
According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Trade, 11 issues, including cooperation in rational use of water resources in the Central Asian region, strengthening of environmental protection, and development regional cooperation between small mountain countries, are supposed to be tabled to the meeting’s agenda.

’s Minister of Transport Nurlan Suleymanov.

’s intends to submit or consideration of the Kyrgyz side a number of projects for cooperation in the areas such as industry and energy. The session is expected to end with signing of a protocol of cooperation.
According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, a two-way trade between
Tajikistan
and
Kyrgyzstan
over the first six months of this year has valued at US$18,216,500, which 97 percent more compared to the same period of 2005.

have been estimated at US$1.3 million, and
Tajikistan
’s imports from
Kyrgyzstan
have been estimated at US$16.8 million.
