, August 2, Asia-Plus – The Republican festival of professional theatres entitled “Parastou” starts in the city of
Kulob
today afternoon.
According to information from the Ministry of Culture, the festival is dedicated to the 15
th
anniversary of
Tajikistan
’s
Independence
and the 2700
th
anniversary of the establishment of the city of
Kulob
.
14 theatres from all regions of the country are participating in the festival in Kulob. The festival is being opened by the performance of the Khorog Theatre of Musical Comedy named after Mehrubon Nazarov. The Tajik capital is represented by the Dramatic Theatre named after Abulqosim Lohouti, the Dramatic Russian Theatre named after Vladimir Mayakovsky and the Dramatic Theatre named after Mahmoudjon Vohidov. Besides, three theatres from Khatlon and six theatres from the Sughd province will show their performances in Kulob.
Senior representatives from the Ministry of Culture are expected to attend the festival-opening ceremony. The festival runs through August 15.
