President of Turkmenistan to visit Germany and Austria

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will soon pay official visits to the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria. This was reported by the Turkmen deputy prime minister Rashid Meredov at a government meeting on 10 November. The Turkmen delegation to Germany will have some 140 members, including cultural workers.

Speaking about the forthcoming visits, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that “the establishment of reliable contacts with new partners and strengthening of cooperation with long-standing partners of Turkmenistan will be in the focus of the visits.” “Germany is among the latter. The history of relations with Germany accounts for many great accomplishments and undertakings,” he said. According to the president, the forthcoming visit is destined to open another important page in the history of these relations and take the Turkmen-German relations to a new level.
