On the evening of March 13, President Emomali Rahmon concluded his two-day state visit to Kyrgyzstan.  At the Bishkek airport, he was seen off by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

The Tajik president’s official website says that in addition to the talks with Sadyr Japarov, Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Adylbek Kasymaliyev.

The meeting reportedly addressed pressing issues regarding the expansion of Tajik-Kyrgyz relations, with a focus on implementing agreements reached during the state visit in the trade and economic sphere.

A thorough exchange of views took place on cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade and economics, agriculture, energy, and investment interaction.

Special attention was given to the launch of joint ventures in promising industrial sectors, organizing exhibitions and trade forums, and establishing close and fruitful cooperation between regions, especially border areas.

Emphasis was placed on the restoration of passenger air services between the cities of the two countries.

Separate discussions were held on the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of science, education, youth policy, tourism, and sports.

The state visit of President Emomali Rahmon to Kyrgyzstan lasted two days.  A large official delegation of heads of ministries and departments, government agencies and other officials accompanied the president on his visit to Kyrgyzstan.  During the visit, Emomali Rahmon held substantial negotiations with Kyrgyz president and other high-ranking state officials, which resulted in the signing of 16 new cooperation agreements, the most important of which is the State Border Treaty between the two countries.
