DUSHANBE, May 2, Asia-Plus — An exhibition of works by disabled having disabilities and a concert prepared by them was held at the Culture Center “Bactria” in Dushanbe on Saturday [April 29].  

According to information from the Dushanbe non-government organization “Health”, works of 16 disabled children aged 4 to 10 were put on display in the fair.   

Ms. Amal Khanum Gadjiyeva, the “Bactria” Center coordinator for culture and external ties, has told Asia-Plus visitors of the exhibition could purchase the works or make donations.  “All funds made from the fair will go to purchasing the most necessary things for these children – wheelchairs and hearing aids.   

MS, Venera Umarova, chairperson of the Consultative-Educational Center for Children Having Disabilities, says that more than 500 such children have to date been registered with their center.  

The event was staged by the Culture Center “Bactria”, NGO “Health” under support of the Dushanbe-based Turkish cafe “Merve”.
