The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Dushanbe opened a Book of Remembrance on Monday to honor those killed during the recent conflict between Iran and Israel.  The memorial event is being held on June 30 and July 1.

Ambassadors of various countries, members of the Tajik intelligentsia, cultural and literary figures, and residents of the capital gathered at the Iranian embassy to offer condolences and pay tribute to the victims.

The mourning ceremony commemorates high-ranking commanders of Iran’s Armed Forces, nuclear scientists, and numerous civilians who were killed during Israeli military strikes on Iranian territory.

The armed conflict between Iran and Israel erupted on June 13 after Israel launched a strike on Iranian soil. The hostilities lasted for 12 days.

According to official reports, more than 600 Iranian citizens were killed and approximately 5,000 injured during the fighting.
