An intriguing light heavyweight bout took place in Almaty on September 9 as part of the Octagon 78 mixed martial arts tournament. Popular Tajik fighter Saimumin Madiyev, better known as "Metro Lyublino" (9-2), met with Azerbaijani representative Elmir Jafarov (6-6) in the octagon.

In the first round, "Metro Lyublino" bombarded his opponent in the stalls, which almost ended in an early defeat for the Azerbaijani.

Nevertheless, it was enough to convince Jafarov's seconds not to continue the duel. Victory by technical knockout of Saimumin Madiev.

The Azerbaijani fighter refused to enter the second round, and Tajik fighter gets a chance to fight for the title in the near future.

Saimumin has been through a lot in the league, there have been wins and losses, he has already played his seventh match in the Octagon League. Madiev goes on a winning streak and loudly declares his ambitions.

Saimumin Madiyev was born on September 20, 1996 in Kulyab. He started practicing martial arts from an early age. During his studies at school, he regularly participated in freestyle wrestling competitions.

He made his mixed martial arts debut in August 2021, defeating Maktybek Bapanov by technical knockout in the first round at the Colosseum MMA League tournament.

In December of the same year, Saimumin fought Vladislav "Psycho" Popov at a Hardcore MMA tournament and won with a submission hold in the first minute of the fight.

In 2022, Madiev fought six fights in various promotions, including Arena, Hype FC, Hardcore MMA, and Octagon. He scored five victories over such fighters as Georgy Gagloev, Igor Shvetsov, Korney Tarasov, Anton Kolcheganov and Omurbek Kanybek uulu, and was defeated by Merei Beken.

In February 2024, under the banner of the Octagon League, Madiev defeated Karim Soyuzov by technical knockout in the first round.

He became widely known in 2021 after the publication of the video "Moscow. Lyublino metro station. We are working", where the fighter and his teammates trained to the remix of the song "In da Club" by rapper 50 Cent. In June 2022, Madiev was deported from Russia to Tajikistan due to problems with his documents.
